How to identify different wood cutting board?
1. Look at the features. The iron wood/sambar chopping board has a long tree age, and the wood fibers are fine and hard. Ordinary wood cutting boards, commonly made of maple, catalpa, lotus and other woods, are softer and easier to lose sawdust.
2. Look at the relative density. Ironwood / sapwood cutting board has a large proportion of wood and sinks in water, while ordinary wood does not.
3. Look at the texture. “Ironwood/Sambar chopping wood is twill, with staggered grains, while ordinary wood is not.
4. Look at the hardness. Iron wood / spruce wood cutting board scratches its cross section with a thumb nail and does not show nail dents, but ordinary wood does.
5. Listen to the sound. Iron wood / spruce wood chopping boards make an iron-like clanging sound when struck with a hammer, while ordinary wood makes a crackling sound.
No matter what kind of cutting board, it should be cleaned in time after use. Hang it upright in a ventilated place and let it air dry. Do not place against a wall or lay flat. Otherwise, the other side will not be able to dry, and it is easy to breed mold. When cleaning, use a hard brush dipped in detergent to scrub, and then rinse repeatedly with clean water.
